Following an early leak, Capcom officially announced today during the Capcom Showcase that Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and Resident Evil 7 are getting free current-gen upgrades. Even better, fans don’t have to wait, as the updates are out now.
With the updates, the games support 4K, higher frame rates, ray-tracing, and 3D audio where supported. The PlayStation version will support the DualShock’s haptic feedback. An update for the PC versions of each title that add the new features and capabilities is also coming. As mentioned, anyone who already owns the games for PS4 or Xbox One can upgrade for free within the same console family.
More details on the new improvements can be found on the PlayStation Blog and in the announcement video above.
The Capcom Showcase also brought news of Resident Evil: Re: Verse’s release date and Resident Evil Village DLC, Shadows of Rose. Additionally, Capcom revealed new gameplay for the much-anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake and shared new information about it.
